Rebecca Creedy began her professional sporting career at the age of 14 when she was selected in the Australian Swimming team to compete at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. After successfully competing at two Commonwealth Games (1998, 2002) where she won gold, silver and bronze medals and set a Commonwealth Record, Rebecca took a break from competitive swimming.
At the age of 23 and after a three year break from professional sport Rebecca became involved in the sport of surf lifesaving whilst completing a degree in Environmental Science. Within 18 months Rebecca had added running, board and ski paddling to her repertoire and had qualified for the Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironwoman Series.
Over the past 6 years Rebecca has become a staple in the series and has consistently improved to a point where she is now one of the favourites to win the series. In 2013/14 Rebecca’s series placing of 5th has again guaranteed her automatic qualification into the 2014/15 series.
In 2012 Rebecca achieved the pinnacle of her chosen sport by winning the Australian Ironwoman Championship and the World Ironwoman Championship. Rebecca is hoping to defend this title at this year’s World Championships in France before returning to Australia to compete in the iconic “Coolangatta Gold” endurance Ironman and Ironwoman race for the first time.
Rebecca is an extremely dedicated and determined competitor who is currently fitting in the demanding training raceme required to be a professional athlete around part-time work. As a working athlete, she greatly appreciates any support received from her sponsors and is committed to representing them in a professional and positive manner.
